In A Pinch is still around! February 13th, 2017

Over the years as a stay at home mom, I've tried lots of business ideas.  I've come to realize that many moms do.  We want it all!  We want to have the flexibility to be there for our kids all while being able to help contribute financially to the household.  The problem is that sometimes the timing or the idea is just not right and so we get frustrated and lose confidence in ourselves!  Most of my businesses never got past the idea stage.  A few got somewhat further...basically I would spend some money on whatever project or website idea I had and then -failure!

I can honestly say this is the first business I've ever had that has made money, has lasted this long, and that I still enjoy 7 months later which is a record for me!  It's not really that I'm a quitter.  I graduated from college, I'm raising three kids, and I've been married to the same man for over 22 years so I'm no quitter.  I think all of the business failures taught me skills or lessons along the way that I needed for this business but also I think this business is working because I'm really being true to myself.

In the past when I tried things, I wasn't really sold myself so how in the world could I ever find success?  As this little business grows, I constantly find myself beginning to stray in one direction or another and I have to remind myself to stay focused and make choices that I believe in 100%!

I feel very fortunate to have something that allows me to be creative and gives me purpose, all while I continue being the wife and mom that I want to be!

I've got lots of ideas and plans for In A Pinch and I look forward to see what the future brings!

Happy Shopping!

-Tina

    Hello Tina,

I came across your blog after searching for inspiration and ideas for a project I’m working on. After reading “In A Pinch is still around…” I wanted to let you know I can truly relate to your story. I too am a stay at home mom and celebrated my 24th wedding anniversary just yesterday. I’ve been home with my son since he was born. I’ve homeschooled him since kindergarten and he’s now in his 12th year.

I too have started and stopped. Whether it was a thought, an idea and some ideas even got time and money invested….I’d start then stop. Sometimes I would not pursue it because I felt I was neglecting homeschooling, housekeeping, etc. I’m very crafty and passionate about it because I really enjoy it.

Now that homeschooling is all most over, I believe God is saying it’s time. I started crafting projects that I love and as I said, I opened an Etsy shop in December 2015. As of recent, I’ve been able to really invest more time. It’s such a blessing to be able to do something I love and get paid for it while all along I’m home to take care of my family. I now get people asking me, “so what are you going to do now?” as if life is over. I laugh and say…“I will continue to do the things I love to do… being a wife, a mom and making beautiful things to share with others”.

I pray many blessings for you, your family and In A Pinch! Please visit my shop when you have a moment. Many blessings, Lisa
